There are many ways to serve, grow, and connect at Christ Church.
The Anglican tradition holds that "singing is praying twice." Our music program embraces the rich heritage of Anglican hymnody, with a parish choir, two historic pipe organs, and a commitment to excellence in sacred music. New voices are always welcome.
We offer nursery care for infants and toddlers during the 10:30 AM service, along with Children's Chapel — a special liturgy designed for our youngest members that takes place during the first half of the service before children rejoin their families for Communion.
Our youth program includes confirmation preparation, acolyte training, mission trips, and Camp Trinity — the diocesan summer camp. We aim to form young people in the faith and create a community where they feel known, loved, and challenged to grow.
Serving Others in Unity and Love. SOUL is a collaborative ministry of 14+ churches in Elizabeth City that provides nightly meals to those in need. Christ Church volunteers prepare and serve meals on a rotating schedule throughout the year.
A men's ministry founded nationally in 1883 and chartered at Christ Church in 1912. The Brotherhood meets regularly for prayer, study, and service, carrying forward more than a century of faithful witness by the men of this parish.
Christ Church has a long tradition of hands-on service beyond our parish walls. Recent mission trips include Ecuador (2022), hurricane relief in Florida (2023), and Honduras (2024). These trips transform lives — both those we serve and our own.
Each October, Christ Church participates in the annual Walk for Hunger, raising funds and awareness in support of the Food Bank of the Albemarle. This community-wide event brings together people of all ages to walk, pray, and give toward the goal of ending hunger in northeastern North Carolina.
